Due to retirement in June 2019, an exciting position has arisen at Pen-y-Cae Surgery for an accomplished and highly motivated Practice/Business Manager in our established, well-respected practice.

Pen-y-Cae consists of 6900 patients, with five partners, and a varied team including a very experienced nursing team of Practice Nurses, two HCA’s and a phlebotomist, practice pharmacist, and highly efficient administrative staff. We have very close links with community staff, monthly meetings with the palliative care/district nursing teams, an active Patient Participation Group, plus strong involvement with our local NCN (National Community Network) and ABUHB (Aneurin Bevan University Health Board)

The person appointed will take a lead role in supporting the GP partners in the strategic development of the practice, demonstrating vision and effective outcomes in Business, Finance, and IT. Staff management will also be founded on a good knowledge of HR and Employment Law. NHS experience is desired but not essential. A manager who is a dynamic leader with excellent people management, communication and organisational skills. The PM will be responsible for managing and coordinating effectively all aspects of the Practice’s operational day-to-day business being committed to improving patient experiences and achieving a high quality service. Our team are key to our success and the new PM will have excellent communication, training and team building skills and will prioritise staff support and development, including the medical students.
Hours/salary negotiable, what is important to us is that we find the right person. Visits to the practice are encouraged and welcomed.
