Post Title: Receptionist/Administrator
Pay: Depending on experience
Hours: 25 hours (must be flexible to work overtime)
Holiday: 4 weeks (20 days) per annum pro rata+ statutory bank holidays
Pension Scheme: NHS Occupational Pension Scheme
Accountability: Practice Manager & GP Partners- working alongside other reception staff
Liaise with: Patients, clients and visitors to the practice & members of the reception & primary care team

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To meet and greet patients, members of the public and visitors to the practice in a friendly and courteous manner
2. To direct patients to the appropriate professional, known as signposting
3. Make appointments for patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the primary health care team on the computer
4. Complete surgery recall lists when required
5. Register new patients on the computer system
6. Operate repeat prescription system as directed
7. Scanning/ workflow and summarising of medical notes once trained
8. Understand the usage of the practice email and intranet system
9. Assist in the closing and securing of the building at the end of the working day
10. Comply with all in house and statutory Health & Safety procedures
11. Attend practice meetings
12. Attend training courses in house and externally to develop expertise and further knowledge
13. Any other duty that may be properly deemed by the Practice Manager or Doctors to be part of the role of receptionist

It is important that all members of staff are prepared to take on additional duties or relinquish existing duties in order to maintain efficient running of the practice.
